[Yes, she's very stern sounding. Only briefly, though, because she melts just as quickly.]

Yes, ma'am. I mean -- no, ma'am. [OUGH. Anyway,

He turns his hand over, offering it to her properly.]

Seriously...? [Oh, man. All of a sudden he's overwhelmed with happiness at the possibility, but still upset something terrible... Here come the tears.]

[Getting used to just how much this guy feels is going to be an undertaking, Meryl can already tell. She gets up without complaint, though, quickly stepping between his legs so that she can reach out and hold his face.]

Seriously, Livio. [She thumbs at those tear-streaked cheeks.] Promise, even.

[Meryl if you think you're overwhelmed, try BEING him for five seconds --

Oh. Livio flushes warmly as he realizes this is exactly how it was when they first kissed, except now he's crying and he can see all of her beautiful face.]

Promise, huh...? [His free hand raises to touch ever so lightly over top of hers. Just as tentatively, he whispers.] Partner.

[Something about that blush, in the middle of all the tears, is so uniquely Livio. It squeezes her heart in all those warm, sappy, and gooey ways. She tilts her head forward to brush over his forehead, gentle and sweet as every other motion she's offered.]

Partner. [Her smile twitches upward.] Or girlfriend, if you're feeling so bold.

[In spite of the show of emotion, he is relaxing quite readily into her hands now that they've cleared things up. Even if Livio can't believe it, he won't question it.]

Hm... Meryl Stryfe, my girlfriend? Don't sound real...

[Okay, maybe he will. But just a little.]

I know. Sounds like a nightmare.

[Her tone is light, clearly she doesn't mean the insult toward herself or anything. And even if she did, she distracts him with a very quick kiss!]

[Ohh, he is... so taken by that kiss... might even whimper a little.

... But Meryl isn't getting away that easily!]

Ain't a nightmare! Don't talk about my girlfriend like that!

[Meryl is already dancing out of the way of his grip, laughing all the while.]

Oh? And what are you going to do if it happens again, tough guy?

[He's going to whine pitifully and reach after her, that's what.]

Wait, no, come back --

[Her head tosses to the side almost coquettishly.]

Why don't you come to me?

[livlaughlove]

[Meryl is so mean to him, her boyfriend. Her silly little guy. Her big snookums. He is once again whimpering in the back of his throat like a sad little tripod dog as he scrambles to his feet to follow her.]

[Meryl isn't far away, and she doesn't try to keep running either. She just waits for him to reach her, then leans into his arms.]

There you go.

[He is a very good boy, see?]

... Hi. Missed ya. [And a silly one, too.]

And I missed you.

[She tugs on his shirt a little. Kneel down and give her a kiss, please.]

[Oh, she can have him on his knees in an instant, thank you. From there, he... well, first of all, wipes the last of the tears on his sleeve, then goes to hold her.

Huh. His hand is just about the same size as the small of her back. And the red cheeks and ears have returned. Time to distract himself with a kiss!]

[Livio has a way of making Meryl not only feel small, but a way of making her not hate every second of it. She doesn't know where he gets off, managing that, but it's not like she can complain. Especially when her mouth is otherwise occupied with a kiss.

Her fingers slide into his hair, gently scraping over his scalp with her nails. She will make him feel the coziest, thank you.]

[He is not getting off at all, thank you. It's called being polite. Meryl should look it up.

Livio gives a pleased little hum and pulls her closer as tenderly as he can. Though he can only keep the smooching up so long before his smile overtakes him.]

Feels real good, hon.

[That's just fine by her. Meryl is also smiling. It's much easier to slide forward and rest their foreheads together. And maybe brush their noses together too.]

You aren't going to rush off any time soon, are you?

Naw. I got nothin' else goin' on today. All yours, shug.

[Her nose scrunches, trying her best to sound displeased even as she hides her steadily warming face against his shoulder.]

You're a sap, Livio.

[She isn't complaining.]

So I keep gettin' told.

[He dares her to call him wrong, though.

Not really... he pats her back once or twice in a comforting motion. It's okay to be embarrassed, Meryl. Livio is embarrassed at all times.]

[She... probably shouldn't shiver when he does that, but she can't help it. He's just so big compared to her.

Maybe I ought to buy a step stool to keep around.
